March 17th COVID-19 Announcement

Lisa Russell

Dear Church Family,

As you all are well aware, things are changing very quickly in the world as it responds to the seriousness of COVID-19. Most recently, the District of West Vancouver has shut down all of its recreational and cultural buildings, this includes the Gleneagles Clubhouse. Further to this, the municipal and federal governments are discouraging gatherings of more than 50 people. Given these most recent developments, it is obvious that Revolution Church will not be having regular Sunday meetings until further notice. Mid-week small group gatherings will also remain closed. We will reassess the wisdom of opening up small groups and prayer meeting after the Spring Break.

A silver lining to all of this is that we now have an opportunity to dial in our on-line service option. Jeremy and the team are working hard to make the appropriate purchases and choose the right platform to offer a high quality offering. This will allow us to stay connected, worship, and take communion together live on Sunday mornings. We will be setting up The Hub as our Sunday morning “production studio.” Thank you Jesus that we have this awesome facility at our disposal.

We are all in unchartered waters. At this time, we encourage each of you to press in daily to God and to stay connected and encourage each other in faith and service to God, to our church community, and to our neighbourhoods.

Much love to you all.

Nick and Lisa, for the leadership team.

COVID-19 Announcement

Lisa Russell

Dear Church Family,

This last Wednesday night during the prayer meeting, there was such a sense of the peace of God, His protection, and His favour. We are so blessed to be held so closely by our loving and protective heavenly Father. No matter what we face, His wings are spread wide and we, as His children, enjoy His special attention and covering. In light of this assurance, we are not dismayed or afraid, but we do remain sober and vigilant regarding the changes happening in our world, and in particular, the Corona Virus (COVID-19).

We are aware and staying up to date on the developing news surrounding cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in British Columbia. We are monitoring the situation and following the official recommendations from the Minister of Health in BC. As a result, Nick and I have cancelled our trip to Palm Springs over Spring Break. We will be vacationing closer to home at this time. We will also continue to monitor things as pertains to our church family.

At this time, there is no need for us to alter our regular Sunday meetings. We have already cancelled our mid-week meeting times for the duration of Spring Break and that will give us some time to assess the pandemic situation as it develops.

In regard to our Sunday gathering, we request that you take personal responsibility for yourself and your family as pertains to the following. Regular handwashing and keeping a safe personal distance are the most effective ways of limiting infection. Other than common-sense protocols applied with wisdom and care, there really is no need to panic:

  • Reduce personal contact (no welcome handshakes, hugs, etc.)
  • All volunteers must sanitize/wash hands routinely
  • Parents, please take responsibility for your kids and make sure they sanitize/wash hands as they enter the building and before going to Sunday School classes
  • Children (and adults) showing any signs of illness must be kept home
  • If you are elderly or immunocompromised, please consider staying home for now
  • Stay connected and post prayer requests on Facebook and using our Church App (available at the Apple App Store, Google Play, or at https://tithely.app.link/revolution-church-vancouver)

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. As the media continues to promote fear and isolation, we stand fast in faith and the peace of God, which passes understanding and guards our hearts and minds. We know that our God is in control and that we have assurance and healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Blessings and love to you all.

Nick and Lisa Russell, and the Revolution Church leadership
