Snow Report: Church Remains Open February 5th

Lisa Russell

Church is still on tomorrow morning. As of now, the roads are clear and safe for driving throughout West Van and North Van. In addition, we have shovelled the stairs, put down ice, and secured some parking with pylons in front of the church. Everything is looking good for tomorrow morning. Nick will also be there at 8:00 tomorrow morning to shovel the parking areas. If anyone in the area is able to join him that would be great! Bring a shovel.

Stew Sunday, February 5th

Lisa Russell

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a Stew Sunday in the house. As always, bring a main dish and a friend and let’s celebrate good friends and fellowship by enjoying a meal together! We will start with a shortened church service from 10:00 – 11:00 followed by a meal in the hall. The church will provide desert and drinks. Everyone is welcome. 6404 Wellington Avenue.

Advent: A Season of Contemplation and Celebration

Lisa Russell

Starting November 27th and including the four Sundays leading up to Christmas, Revolution Church invites you to consider Jesus – His birth, life, and eventual return. With seasonal songs and carols, scripture reading and preaching, we prepare our hearts for the promise of Jesus Christ, both as a past historical event, a present life-giving reality, and a future hope-filled promise. Sunday Services 10am, 6404 Wellington Avenue, West Vancouver.

Welcome Ivor and Jakki Lewis

Lisa Russell

Revolution Church is pleased to welcome Ivor and Jakki Lewis to minister on Sunday, November 20th.  Ivor and Jakki Lewis are visiting from Victoria and come highly recommended.  Ivor and Jakki have been pastors at Trinity Christian Centre for 20 years and previous to that taught and ministered at a bible school in South Africa.  Ivor has just recently stepped down as leading Trinity in Victoria and now is focussed on ministering to local and international churches as part of the New Covenant Ministries International apostolic team.  We have enjoyed a long relationship with Ivor and Jakki and look forward to hearing what God will bring through them for Revolution Church.

WHAT IS ALPHA?

Lisa Russell

Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and fun environment. There is no pressure, follow up, or charge.

GREAT FOOD: Alpha always starts with food. It’s a fantastic way to get to know new people and build relationships!

ALPHA TALK: The talks are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation. Usually around 24 minutes long, they explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”

GROUP DISCUSSIONS: Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the talk without being corrected or judged. There’s no obligation to say anything; it’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective.

Whether you grew up a Christian or never set foot in Church, whether you are 18 or 88, whether you work, are in school, or somewhere in between… Alpha is for everyone.
