Our times together reflect our desire for authenticity in our relationship with God and with one another. -
We meet every Sunday at 10:00am at 6404 Wellington Avenue (St. Monica’s church) in Horseshoe Bay.
What to Expect
Each Sunday service has its own distinctive character depending on who is leading worship, sharing and preaching. We have three different worship teams who may lead any given Sunday. Nick and Jeb (the pastors) usually preach; but it is also common for a member of the congregation or a visiting minister to speak.
We also encourage participation from church members, according to 1 Corinthians 14:26 NLT, “When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.” We give space for the Holy Spirit to lead in our meetings and to use different people to bring encouragement and revelation. Because of this, you can always expect something fresh, encouraging, and relevant.
Every Sunday we honour Jesus and remember what He has done for us by observing communion together. Sometimes communion is offered during the worship time and each individual and family can participate as they are led, and other times, we stop and hand out the bread and juice so that we can take it together. Children are also welcome to partake in communion.
We are blessed to have a large group of children in our congregation and because of this, our children’s church is a vibrant place. We believe wholeheartedly that our children can have a personal relationship with Jesus. They can hear from God their Father just as well as the adults (sometimes better) and can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
We encourage our children to learn to discern God’s voice, honour His word, and expect great things for their life. We want them to know how much their Father in heaven loves them and wants to prosper them in all they do (Jeremiah 29:11). We also encourage fun, play, and friendship with all the kids. We offer classes for kids ages 2 – 13. Children worship with the adults and then go to children’s church during the preaching time.
Newcomers and Visitors
If you have never been to church before, don’t be intimidated. We would love to have you and you are always welcome. We are a friendly casual group of friends and neighbours. Our people join us from West Vancouver and across the Northshore. Some even come from downtown and Coquitlam. There is a range of ages and stages of life, but the majority are young families with school age children. Our times together reflect a deep desire to worship God and be all that we can be in Jesus Christ. If you are interested in learning more about Jesus, we encourage you to visit us.
